In addition to his drawings and paintings, Bruneau also made sculptures. Any material was good enough to shape his ideas: cardboard, wood, or canvas. With his sculptures, he experimented with giving volume to his drawings and bringing them to life by adding a third dimension. Notable is his matchbox sculpture of a concrete mixer on top of its packaging. Bruneau also made a larger-than-life version. Other sculptures arose in the context of projects. For the exhibition 'Eerste Chauvinistische' in the hangars of the Montevideo, Bruneau built a large orange fish out of wood and canvas. The sculpture simultaneously served as a display for his paintings and a home for himself.
